Hello. My name is Guy Gane III and I am a Civil War historian and history junkie.
Since I live in the Buffalo & Niagara area of New York, I was wondering if any of you who are interested, would be likely to attend commemoration activities and events in the Western New York area.
I currently live around the corner of the encampment at 11 Mile Creek and have become very interested in seeing a huge effort at remembering a forgotten war. We live in the midst of great battles and campaigns and yet, many in the area couldn't even tell you who even fought in the war.
If any of you would be interested in attending events in this area, I kindly ask you to email me at GWGane3@aol.com and tell me your 1812-related story. All replies, with your permission, will be shown to the local governments in an effort to further awareness and commemoration.
