War of 1812 Genealogy Forum

Hello,
My ggg-grandfather Michael S. Vandercook was a brigade inspector and major in the 3rd Detached Brigade (under General Micajah Pettit) at the start of the War of 1812. Later in the war he served in the same rank under his father-in-law General Gilbert Eddy, 8th Brigade (Rensselaer County). In his later years, Major Vandercook assisted neighbors, relatives, friends to obtain military pension benefits. Thanks to Footnote.com, I have discovered several Revolutionary War pension files on which he worked. But, so far, that database contains nothing for War of 1812 pensions (at least I have had no luck finding any). I would like to hear about any War of 1812 pension file in which the name Vandercook appears. He typically signed his name: Micl. S. V. D. Cook. Other versions of the name include Vander Cook, Van Dercook, and Van Der Cook. At present, I have found only two War of 1812 pension files involving him: Jeptha BROWN and Jabez CRANE. I am sure there were many more. Thanks for your help.
