Colonel Adam Ritcher, pa militia
Hi,
My 4th great grandfather was Philip Fetterhoff. He was a Captain in the 2nd PA militia, 1st Brigade. The colonel of this unit was Adam Ritcher. The commander of the 1st Brigade was General John Forster. in Philip's pension, it clearly states that he was discharged December 3rd in Baltimore, Md. The regiment was activated on September 3, 1814.
This group was part of the tenth military district, Baltimore, Md.-So, we know that Philip was indeed in Baltimore for a time.
My question is, while in Baltimore what did this unit do? Were they able to see, or pass by Ft Mchenry? (or participated in the battle itself?, North Point?) Philip was from Dauphin, PA; the regiment marched from York Pa to Baltimore. -Baltimore is a days march away from York, PA.
I appreciate any help,
STefan Fetterhoff
