John Waterfield, Fayette Co, KY 1810-17
John Waterfield is found on the Fayette Co, KY taxlists for 1810,11,14-16. In no year did he have land. He was HoH on 1810 US Census as male 16-26. He married Mary Carter, daughter of John Carter; place & date unknown. From a Fayette Co 1815 marriage bond, it is probale that his mother's name was Nancy (aka Ann) and his sister's name was mary. According to their son Jessie's 1880 US Census, both were born in KY. John disappears after 1817.
Mary (aka Polly) died in Anderson Co, KY before 9 October 1848 when her will was probated. Her father died in 1835 when he identifies Mary Waterfield in his will.
The Waterfield family remained in Anderson Co until the present; about 1860-70, the name became Waterfill as it is generally used.

Possible origination points for John and/or his parents were Accomack Co, VA or Bedford Co, VA. To this author's knowledge no one has ascribed an origin for the family.
