My information about Phillip Waterfield (and his father, Phillip) is sketchy at best. What is generally known is that Phillip was born about 1715, and came to the colonies, from the south of Wales, about 1740. His occupation was that of a housejoiner (carpenter). He fought with the Virginia militia during the French and Indian Wars, and lived in/around Charlottsville, Virginia. He reportedly was a close friend/neighbor of Peter Jefferson, the father of Thomas Jefferson.
Most of my data really begins with Phillip's son, Peter, whom my family and I descend from. I've been fortunate enough to have received assistance from other Phillip Waterfield descendants, and will be glad to pass their e-mail addresses on to you. They're a great bunch of folks, and have helped me over several humps, like the one you're facing now.
The best of luck.
