The certificate of death for Elizabeth Waughtel Houston ~ (widow of a Samuel Houston and daughter of Frederick Waughtel & Katherine Baughman) ~ states that her father Frederick was born in Pennsylvania and in her obituary it states that her father was a Methodist Circuit rider. Also in the article for her 100 year birthday anniversary it states her father was a Methodist Circuit rider. This is contrary to the earlier mentions of his being born in either Rockingham or Augusta County, Virginia. This contradicts with the "other" Frederick Waughtel shown in the 1820 Virginia census noted by Marian Wachtel Kimber and other earlier researchers. This "other" Frederick Waughtel is my direct line but I don't believe he was a Methodist Circuit rider. There has never been any indication of this to date in my researching.
Any help on this will be gratefully appreciated.
