Wiley Webster, wife Anne Took in Orphans in 1800's?
I am looking for information on my g-g grandfather's parents.Family story that has been handed down, is that he was an indian orphan that was taken in by Wiley Webster (born abt 1803)and his wife Anne(born abt 1812).The Webster's were known for taking in orphans before the Civil War, and at the time of the Civil War, they took in orphans as a result of the war.My g-g-grandfather's name was Robert B. Webster, born 1838 in Alabama.Other children he grew up with were--Mary born circ 1841; Eliza born circ 1845; Willliam born circ 1847; Jane born circ 1849; Lucinda born circ 1852; and Susan born circ 1856. Robert B. Webster married my g-g-grandmother, Minerva (Nervie) Turner on May 3 1859 in Madison Co., Al.She also was an indian orphan taken in by the Turner family.Robert had a second wife by the name of Serrena Shaw, married Dec 15, 1868--and they lived in both Alabama and Georgia.Any info greatly appreciated!
