Weedon name
Most Americans have the Weeden spelling but the original english version is Weedon. It comes from Qui-don, old enlish. "Qui" pronounced "Wee" meant sacred and "don" which was a stand of trees (usually on a hill). The family name comes from the place in England called Weedon "a large village and parish in the district of Daventry, Northamptonshire, England". It isn't Dutch or German, it's english. This matters because most people who have the "Whee" spelling may be more closely linked to "Wheaton" a completely different family.
