I am interested knowing more about the descendants of this Anna Catharina and Philip Weil and their son Caspar Weilwho was born in 1663 in Weilburg.I am descended from a Caspar Weil who was apparently born about one generation later in the same area. The latter Caspar (or Kaspar) lived in Lützellinden which is just southwest of Gießen (Giessen).Gießen is roughly 15 miles northeast of Weilburg. At that time, Lützellinden was in the principality of Nassau-Weilburg.
According to my information, Caspar Weil of Lützellinden was born circa 1698 in Kleinlinden (slightly closer to Gießen than Lützellinden). He married Anna Maria Jung (born 1696), daughter of Johannes and Anna Elisabetha (Menges) Jung.Caspar and Maria had a son Johann Friedrich who was born in 1724 in Lützellinden. In 1750, Friedrich emigrated to Nova Scotia with Jung relatives who were also from Lützellinden.
In Nova Scotia, Friedrich married twice and has many descendants. He belonged to the Lutheran Church. Friedrich became known as Frederick Wile and virtually all descendants in the direct male line use the name Wile.(Similarly, Jung became Young.)
Friedrich was my great-great-great-great-great-grandfather.
