Do you know where you g-g-grandmother was from? Do you know who her parents were? I'm not sure but she may be a sister to my g-g-grandfather Engelbert Weingartner or his father Ignatzi Weingartner. Does any of this sound familiar?
My g-g-grandparents came from Pfaffenrot, Baden, Germany. The town is now called Marxzell. They were bakers by trade. A ton of Weingartner's come from the black forest area in Germany. Marxzell, as well as, the black forest is located by Karsruhe, which is southwest of Frankfurt I believe. There is even a village called "Weingart" just north of Karlsruhe. Many vineyards surround this area, and I think somewhere down the gene pool there was a Weingartner who tended the vineyards himself. The name Weingartner means -- garden of wine. Most languages, other than English, are backwards in there meaning.
Let me know if there is a connection!
