Hello Maxine and Emily,Godfrey Weis(s)inger and his wife Lucretia Robinson Weissinger were my gg-grandparents.I found Lucretia's grave in the Amity Cemetery, Amity, Oregon. She died April 8, 1901 soon after arriving in Oregon with her daughter Angie Weissinger Grabel. If Henry Weissinger was an undertaker, then he signed the death certificate for Godfrey.I have long thought it possible that Henry and Godfrey are related. But I don't know how.Henry's parents were Carl Weissinger and Marie Klenck.I am wondering if Carl and Godfrey were related.Do either of you know?Henry and Martha had 8 children: Alison Venable Weissinger, Harry, John R., Elizabeth, Manor (? not sure if that is the correct spelling), Frank, Mattie, and Jesse.I don't have much info on any of them only what I could get from the History of Posey County Indiana, John C. Leffel, Editor, Standard Publishing Co, Chicago, 1913; call number 977.234H2hl.My great-grandfather was David Weissinger who married Mary Jane Lee.They had Joseph Wellborn Weissinger and his sister Mabel Lee Weissinger who was my grandmother on my father's side.I have an antique desk in my possession that my grandmother said was made by Henry Weissinger. Please let me know if you know of Henry's and Godfrey's relationship.I am still looking for information on Godfrey's parents, J.P. Weissinger and Anna Mary. Also, according to info in the family bible which I have, Godfrey came to the US in about 1846 when he was 21 years old from Wittenburg, Germany. There are two Wittenburgs in Germany and I don't know which one it would be.Would either of you know?I'm anxious to hear from you.Karen.
