I sincerely apologize to you, Donald, for not responding before. I thought an email message would be forwarded to me when others responded (as indicated on this site) so I didn't check the site again thinking no one had tried to contact me. First, I would like to extend sympathy over the passing of your son, Michael. Or I was led to believe Michael (the author) was your son. I pray you have peace. Next yes I know you and I are related. You and I have corresponded many years ago via postal mail as well as my mother, Laura, and my sister in Iowa, Karen, have written to you. I tend to really get into researching the lineage and then back off and get involved into other things; in particular because I know that you are doing such a good job for the rest of us! My brother and I are presently working on an update of our family stemming down from Karl (and Laura) Welzenbach, deadline date 1 Jan 2006, and if you would like to have a copy of this report, please contact me through this site. I'll try to be a good girl and remember to check it more often. Thank you, though for your information. I believe in addition to Joseph being a child of Katherina's but also Caspar, Philip and Mary; the other three, Joseph, Julius and John from the first marriage to Barbara. Thank you for dates, which for the most part I did not have.Nancy RW Smith
