I did find a record on Ancestry.com of a ship's passenger list dated 24 July 1867 documenting the arrival in New York of a ship named the Bellance. There was a passenger from France, Frederic Wenner, listed as age 21.I have found a variety of ages given for Frederick Wenner, and one family source states that he did not know how old he was, so I question the accuracy of his grave marker, also since Wissembourg was also incorrectly spelled.
At any rate, I recently read somewhere that it typically took a minimum of five years to become a citizen, so this arrival date would appear to fit with Frederick's naturalization.
I am still looking for the marriage record of Frederick Wenner and his wife Mary Wagner, though I fear it may have been destroyed.I did find them living in Fannin County Texas (bordering Oklahoma) on the 1880 US Census. They had no children of their own as yet, but have a couple of Mary's younger siblings residing with them.Their birthplace is listed as Missouri, so I think the marriage may well have occurred there.
