Hello!Good to hear from you.
You're the second Werhane interested in genealogy I've come across in the past year and a half, besides myself. The other one is John Werhane of Chicago, who's been doing this for 15 years and from whom I've gleaned most of my information.
Are the Werhanes you mentioned buried in Northbrook, IL?My father, Gary Werhane, is from there (son of Donald Werhane + Campsie Fraser, son of Albert Werhane + Emma Ahrens, son of Frederick Werhane + Caroline ?, son of Johan Friederich Werhane + Sophia Lubke, son of Johan Ludwig Wehrhan + Marien Cranen). What line are you from?
1.Johan Ludwig Wehrhan b.bef.1785
+Marien Sophien Cranen b.bef.1785
2.Johann Friedrich Wehrhan, b.10/2/1795 Germany, m.12/21/18, d.7/31/1875
+Sophie Louise Bruns
3.Sophie Louise Leonore Wehrhan b.11/14/1818, d.bef.1827
3.Johan Fredrick Christopher Wehrhan b.4/10/1822, m.4/1845, d.8/18/1887
+Sophie Eugel Marie Lubke
3.Sophie Louise Wehrhan b.6/28/1827, m.3/1849, d.10/18/1916
+Casper Zahnle
3.Wilhelm Friederich Wehrhan b.2/10/1837, d.2/26/1919
+Henrietta Kaup
+(Swedish ?)
3.Christian John Wehrhan b.7/2/1840, m.bef.1880, d.9/2/1928
+Anna ?
+Henriette ?
I received a huge amount of Zahnle information from Tim Crawford, whose wife is a descendant of Sophia Werhane and Casper Zahnle. How do you want to exchange information?
Talk to you later,
Amanda
