Kyle, so sorry for the very long delay in getting back to you.I really appreciate your post. Are you related to William Westwick and Eleanor Crake?
I do believe it is very likely that James B. and John Westwick are grandsons of William Westwick and Eleanor Crake, like you say.I know John Westwick was christened at the church in Upleatham where William and Eleanor are buried.A few years ago I corresponded with someone in England (or her husband, actually) who still lives near Upleatham and Stokesley and is a descendant of William and Eleanor's son Jonathan. But I don't have evidence proving that the James Westwick born about 1789 (father of James B. and John) actually was the son of William and Eleanor. If you find evidence confirming or disproving that relationship, I would really appreciate it if you would contact me.Thanks so much.
So this William Westwick is definitely the one christened at Barnard Castle on 8 October 1759?I suspected that but wasn't sure.I know Eleanor Crake was buried 18 March 1838 in Upleatham.Have you located her christening, by any chance?
Thanks,
Laura Forester
