I have since discovered that the "eliza" price enumerated next to mary whitehorn in the 1840 macoupin co., illinois census is not eliza, but elsey or elzie price.i also have since discovered that logan county kentucky marriages has a record of a mary a. whitehorn marrying elsey price in 1837.consequently, i now believe that mary felts whitehorn, widow of john whitehorn jr., both of sussex co., virginia, moved to macoupin co., illinois following here husband's death ca 1839 in logan county, kentucky.
in macoupin county, mary felts whitehorn ended up living next to her daughter, mary a. whitehorn price, wife of elsey price, of logan co., kentucky.i would very much like to identify other modern descendants of john whitehorn jr. and mary felts besides that of their son, John Warren Whitehorn, who died in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1906.this would include confirming that david g. whitehorn of neighboring montgomery co., illinois was an older son, as well as learning about the descendants of elsey and mary whitehorn price and other members of this whitehorn family.
