Dear Nicolette
I am afraid I can"t inform you of a definite link, but for what it is worth ,you may be interested in what I know.
I was born in England (16th.nov.1935) my father, Gilbert Clarence Whitehorn 5th.Nov.1896 and my grand father James Whitehorn born about 1865 I dont know the exact date.
I understand that James's father was one of the younger sons of a family of 10 boys, 6 by his first wife who then died and four by the second wife. Family legend says that all of the eldest sons migrated to the colonies.
But I don't know exactly where. Howerver when I first left England I migrated to South Africa where I lived for 20 years. Whilst in S.A. I had occasion to visit ISSCOR in Vanderbijl Park. At the police post I filled in a form, the policeman was amazed because he told me he was also a Whitehorn. I in turn was amazed because he was Africaans. This happened about 1963. Maybe he is a relation of yours! Sorry not to have anything more positive for you. regards, Roy
