dau of Col. (Thomas ?) Whitney, of Newpass,
by his wife Miss Boleyne, aunt to 1st Viscount Wicklow,
and Charles Fox d. 1747 having had one son."

- Newpass, Derrydown, Killucan, co. Westmeath, Ireland.

(May be Col. Thomas Whitney who was in the Siege of Derry ?)

Charles Fox, Plaintiff;
John Piercevall (Perceval) and Hercules Courtney, defendants 7 Dec., 1693. No answer.
About April 1684 plaintiff, Charles Fox, of Foxhall, co. Longford, Esq.,
with Oliver Lambert of Painestown, co. Meath, borrowed 400
from Mrs Francis Herbert, alias Fox, plaintiff's dau-in-law,
and gave a bond for same for 100
in the name of Pierce Nugent, gent.,
in trust for said Frances Herbert,
who mc. Sep. 1686 with Patrick Fox, plaintiff's eld. son,
where-upon Charles Fox settled said bond on his said son.

Oliver Lambert of Painestown, co. Meath, failing to pay,
Charles Fox of Foxhall, sued him in Exchequer Court in 1686,
a decree being granted to the sheriff of Meath
against Oliver Lambert's estate.

The sheriff have Charles Fox of Foxhall,
a moiety of said Lambert's estate,
particularly the holding of Thomas Gilbert of Isaacstown, co. Meath, deceased.

This Lambert family may have been relative
of Robert Adair of Kilshruley (& other properties),Clonbroney, his daughter
having married 1742 to John Lambert, attorney of Dublin,
co. Wicklow and co. Longford, Ireland,
(relative of Oliver Richard Lambert).


There was a poem in 'The Sham Squire'
entitled 'Toping Seventy Years Ago'
about Robin Adair, the
wine-merchant of Dublin (and Hollybrook, co. Wicklow) going to Fox Hall to collect a debt.
Lambert family were of Kilcroney, co. Wicklow.
