My great grandfather, Addis Whitney, b.about 1862 in New York (or Kansas) has gone missing. My research is stuck. What I know - he married Elsie B. Myers in 1884 or 1885, son is Joe Whitney b. 19 May, 1885 in South Dakota.
Found one marriage date of 20 Aug, 1884 and another of 8 Feb, 1885.Could be in Delaware Township, Lincoln, South Dakota. Who is this man and what happened to him?
I found an Addis Merril Whitney, b.1862, d.1835, Swampscott,MA. This man traveled as a Waterworks and Gasworks Engineer in the "West". Lived in Duluth, MN 1889, Denver,CO, 1890. and Cheyenne, WY,1894. Involved in real estate speculation.
I can't connect this Addis Merril Whitney to Elsie B. Myers
in South Dakota or New York c.1884 or c.1885.
Any insight and help is much appreciated. Thanks.
