Emma was indeed the daughter of Jonathan B. Warner and Charlotte Jerard (brother and sister of my ancestors Dorcas Warner and William Jerard Jr.). My mom remembers her daughter-in-law Mary Jorden who lived in the Eidsvold area. They married in Elroy, Juneau Co., WI which is where the contingent of Warners, Jerards, Wrights and other first settled after moving from NY to WI, before moving to Clark Co. Here are the obituaries for James and Emma Jordan that I found during a recent trip to Stanley, WI: Stanley Republican, 5 Oct 1912 Sat, p. 5 OBITUARY JORDAN Jas. Jordan died at his home in the town of Thorp, Clark county, near this city on Monday night, September 30, after a lingering illness. His death was not unexpected as he was suffering from a fatal malady. He was about 60 years of age and one of the pioneer residents of this locality. He was born at Elm Grove, Wis. in 1853. He was married to Emma Warner, Elroy in 1874 and and [sic] settled on the farm where he died , in 1877. Indeed, we have met few people who claimed to have been residents of the Stanley Country when "Jim" Jordan came. It is believed that he settled here about 35 years ago and with his faithful wife who survives him reared a family of 14 children, 12 of whom survive, as follows: Mrs. Lottie Palmer, Oregon City, Ore.; Mrs. Rose Timlin, Thorp; Mrs. Len Hutchins, Randle, Wash.; Mrs. John Techmeier, Thorp; Mrs. E G. Erdman, Stanley; Michael Jordan, Stanley; Mrs. Wm. Calkikns, Stanley; and Emma, Eva, James, Tom and William at home. His funeral was conducted from St. Mary's church on Thursday and his mortal remains were interred in St. Mary's cemetery. Mr. Jordan was a good neighbor, a genial and whole hearted companion, a kind and indulgent husband and father. Stanley Republican 19 Oct 1912 Sat, OBITUARY JORDAN Emma, widow of the late James Jordan departed this life at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls on Monday the 14th following a brief illness. She followed her husband to the unseen world after an interval of exactly two weeks. The funeral was held from St. Mary's on Thursday and the remains were followed to the cemetery by one of the largest funerals ever seen here. Deceased was 57 years of age, she having been born in New York State. Her maiden name was Emma Warner, being a sister of John and Tim Warner, well known residents of this locality. She was married to the late Jas Jordan at Elroy, Wis. in 1874 and with him came to reside in this county in 1877. She was the mother of 14 children, twelve of whom survive. She was a good mother and a devoted wife and a communicant of the Catholic Church. A sister, Mrs. Buyatt of Jump River also survives her. CARD of Thanks We wish to thank our friends and neighbors for their kindness during our late bereavement caused by the death of father and mother, especially the Vanderhyden family and Mrs. Denny.
