According to the information I have- my King family started out in New York, went to Lake co. Illinois and then to steven's point, Wisconsin. The older king's with their smaller children came west in 1870 --the older boys who were young men then, stayed in Wisconsin--they were sylvester, clark, william, francis, samuel and james george jr.--apparently most of them stayed around steven's point.--My ggrandmother was Anna King. My ggrandfather, Edward Smith had married first to her sister, Priscilla who is buried in the cemetery at Loyal Wisconsin and when she died he married Anna.
according to marriage records in Loyal, the Kings had been living in Weston Wisconsin when Ed and Priscilla were married, also when Anna married--I don't know where this is in relationship to where your Kings were.--The older Kings were James George King and Catherine King. It would be nice to be able to make a connection somewhere to fill in the history. Do any of these names fit in your family?
