Lutheran Alsatian family Michel/Michael HAAS and wife Elizabeth with six unmarried children, left Le Havre 26 Apr 1830 for Port of NY, plus son Michel & d/l Magadalena (SCHWEICKHARDT) & dau. Settled in East Eden, ErieCo, NY. Some descendants in Buffalo, NY, and in Clark & Iowa Counties (descendants of George HAAS & Eleanor TYRER), WISCONSIN. Michel's grandparents and parents were from CLEEBOURG (Kleeburg), Bas-Rhin. An aunt of Michel's, Luisa [Louisa] (HAAS) [Mrs. Johann Adam DIETRICH], emigrated in 1833 with her husband from KEFFENACH, Bas-Rhin, to New York State, settling in Hamburg, Erie County (very near Eden). Other communities of related families [with family names] in Bas-Rhin include ROTT [MOTZ]; PFAFFENBRONN [HAURY]; LEMBACH; WINGEN [SCHWEICKHARDT]. Searching for contact with all branches in the US and in Alsace!!!!
