The family of John and Catherine was enumerated for the U.S. Census in Theresa Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin, on July 5th, 1870, by J. K. Corey. This record shows the parents born in PRUSSIA (not Beaver Dam) and all the children born in Wisconsin, whose names and ages follow: Kadinger, John age 50, Catherine 38, John 16, Nicholas 14, Mary 12, Eva 10, Christian 8, Angeline 6, Margaret 5, Suzana 4 and Anna 3. After John Kadinger died on Spetember 3, 1873 (buried in St. Peter's Cemetery in Beaver Dam), Catherine nee SCHROEDER remarried, to John ROLLER, Sr. - Here is Catherine's obituary as it appeared in the Beaver Dam Argus, Friday, September 13, 1912, page 4, reprinted from the Watertown Daily Times: "Mrs. Catherine Roller, a pioneer resident of this section, died at her home in Richwood at 6 o'clock this morning. She had been ailing for over a year of dropsy and gradually weakened until the end came today. "Mrs. Roller was 81 years of age and was born in France March 17, 1831. She came to this country sixty years ago, settling in Beaver Dam, and removing to Richwood later on. "She is survived by eight children, two stepchildren, thirty-one grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The children are: Mrs. Joseph Immerfall, Chicago; Mrs. Herbert Stout, Columbus; Mrs. John Miltgen, Beaver Dam; Mrs. John Hampel, Janesville; Mrs. Frank Hampel, Richwood; John, Matthew and Nicholas Kadinger, Sioux Falls, S.D.; the stepchildren are Miss Minnie Roller, Watertown; John Roller, Beaver Dam. The funeral will be held in Beaver Dam." Notify Administrator about this message?
