Looking for any information on the McKinaly family from the Dodgeville area. The parents are James and Nancy (nee Farris)McKinlay who married in Iowa County on 11/24/1858. The couple had six sons : James, John, Daniel, Dennis, Edward, and Alfred. I am confused a bit because this McKinlay family goes back and forth from Iowa County and Dodge County. The McKinlay brothers built the original Catholic church in Dodgevile which I believe has been remodeled..but the cornerstone says "Built by McKinlay Bros in year xxxx". A mining company was formed which was called "The Lucky Five" to mine lead and zinc in Dodgeville. Many of the sons were involved. I am interested in tracing this McKinlay family back. The father, James, on his wedding certificate claims that he was born in Ireland. Any additional information would be appreciated on any McKinlay.
