Mary,
Nelson C. Fales was the son of Thomas C. Fales and Elizabeth Davis. According to a ships passenger manifest which indicates he traveled to Havana, Cuba on 27 Jan 1931, he was born in Boston, MA on 10 Jan 1895. His wife Elizabeth was born in Salen, MA on 14 Feb 1897.
I was unable to locate either Elizabeth or Nelson in the 1930 census so it is entirely possible that they were out of the country during the census.
