A lot of records are not being found for the way some states got divided up. WV, PA and VA used to be all one state call VA. When it got divided up the northern part of VA Records are located in PA or WV. When I went to WV to search I found a whole lot of VA Records. I asked the Clerk how come VA Records are here and not in VA. She said when the state got divided up they were never moved. So the best bet is check the dates on the people you are looking for and if they were born before the state got divided and they lived in VA. After the division it will be in WV or PA. As far as I know the only WV records that has the VA records they are in Morgantown Court House, WV. I do not know PA other than Uniontown, PA. VA most likely just have Va records in Richmond. I never been there. Hope this helps. Gloria
