Hi Delores,
Those names aren't in my direct line, but possibly cousins. I corresponded with another Potter descendent several years back and I checked his e-mails because Curtis Potter sounded familiar. He had info on a Curtis D. Potter, son of Daniel Potter (first cousin to my gggrandfather John Henry Potter). He lived in Marquette, but I don't have a birthdate for him (your Curtis would have been born around 1842). He inlisted as a Corporal on 24 NOvember 1863, Drafted in Company H, 1st Cavalry Regiment Wisconsin on 24 November 1863. Was mustered out on 19 July 1865 in Edgefield, TN. Hope this helps. It seems that with all the Potters living in a tiny place like Marquette, that they must be related somehow.
You mentioned that you grew up around there. Where was that? I lived in Fairwater for the first 8 yrs of my life.
I know there are several Potters buried in the Grand View Cemetery in Marquette. Will check to see if any of your relations are there the next time I go.
Pam
