Leon, Ole and Julia had at least 6 children, possibly more. Both Ole and Julia were born in Norway along with their two oldest children, Julia and Elling. By the ages of their children born in Wisconsin, they most likely arrived 1851-1853. Ole was still alive in the 1900 census, but is listed as a widower so Julia must have died sometime after the 1880 census. The 1895 Wisconsin State Census lists 3 males and 1 female in the household. Since Rachel is unmarried in the 1900 census, it is likely that the one female in this household is her indicating that Julia has died. 1900 census, Wisconsin, Green, Jordan, District 123 Ellingson, Erick Sep 1866 35 S Wisconsin Ole Apr 1813 87 Wid Norway Rachel M Aug 1858 41 S Wisconsin Anderson, Olaf Servant Sep 1879 20 Minnesota 1870 census, Wisconsin, Green, Jordan Ellingson, Ole 55 Farmer RE Value $1740 PP Value $1015 Norway Julia 42 Norway Elling 20 Norway Cornelia 17 Wisconsin Rachel 11 Wisconsin Iver 7 Wisconsin Erick 6 Wisconsin 1860 census, Wisconsin, Green, Jordan Ellingson, Ole 44 Farmer RE Value $600 PP Value $300 Norway Julia 34 Norway Julia 12 Norway Elling 10 Norway Cornelia 7 Wisconsin Rachel 2 Wisconsin Rachel never married and is last found in Polk Co., MN in the 1930 census.
