Can't give you much help with Marthe. You forgot to mention on the Wi query that Vetle and Marthe moved to Iowa right away. All the children born there.
found marriage for daughter Ingebor Vetleson (those Norwegian naming patterns can sure get you turned around)in Winneshiek Co records. 1872 to Narve Trulson. Looks like they went to MN also. 1910 MN,Polk Co, Sletten they had 7 children living. Willie, 18 must have been their youngest. The also had widowed dau Anna Olson 27 and gr-son Norman 7,
Also Joseph Vettleson,m 6 (foster son... Halvor's son?)
Marriage record in Winneshiek Co for Karen Vetleson 1873 to Thrond/Trond Iverson/Iversen. They also went to Mn, Ottertail Co, Buse. They had 9 children. Oldest, Iver, was b. in Iowa all others, Mn.
In the 1850 census Walworth Co, without the correction from Wakely Thurstin to Vetle Torjussen... never would have been found in 1860 Iowa.
