Thomas,
I couldn't find him in any census records either..The only child I know is my Great Grandmother Fannie - b. 3 Sep 1871 and d. 1927 .
In her obit it says she was born in Iron River Wisconsin (Bayfield County ) and in her marriage certificate to Joseph Rebbie it says she was born in Ishpeming Michigan .
And it states her father as Peter Benedict and mother a woman called Julia Beaureau.
Fannie married Eli Raspberry on 21 Mar 1904 in Menominee Michigan .
She is also to have a sister named Delia ( I have no info on her or any other kids in family )
I got some of my info off of Familysearch when I punched in the name Fannie Benedict and the info on her marriage to Eli Raspberry came up.
