Hi Diana.
The actual Schubeck name in my family has been butchered.
I do not know if this will help you, but the Census has 5 different spellings of it. Our line of the Schubeck family came from the Autrian-Hungarian Monarchy.
When they fled to America they dropped the title and change the spelling of the name. It was Von Schuboeck with the umlauts. He was summoned in the Civil War from the Monarchy to go to Westpont to train the soldiers for both sides. The Austrian-Hungarian Empire was falling ...he was a Baron and fled with some of his family. Our line of the Schubeck family is deeply connected to the royal lines and are very traced. I will search for Du Lac. We have our lineage traced all the way back to the House of Wessex, Elthered the Unready, Henry II Platagenet, Lady Godiva, St. Margaret. The name Du Lac sounds familiar. We tie into William the Conqueror twice... also the Hapsburg Dynasty of Wien. Our line of Schubeck ties to the Lowther family and this is where the oldest Saxon grave has been found so far to date. The Earls of Lonsdale have ruled in Northumbria for centuries. A very old Anglican church lies on the Castle grounds. has been in the family for over 900 years. The estate Holdenby which has a wonderful falconry is interestingly passed down to only the female line in the Lowther descendants. It is near the Castle grounds in Northumbria as well. I will search my family documents. Also ... more family records are in Carlisle and in Vienna Austria. I know the original descendants from Charles Leopold Von Schuboeck (spelled Schubeck, Schubach... too many different ways after the spelling of the name was changed and they removed the title) settled in Wharton Texas. They made a small hotel of the original house. They owned the movie theatre in the town as well. The grandchildren were Harry Schubeck (Schubach) Gertrude, Liberty, Eugene... They had many children and were a very prominent family. If I can help you with anything else let me know. Warmest regards
