Hi Michele.

I found Fredrick and Cyrene Matson as follows:

1850 US Census, Ohio, Ashtabula, Conneaut, Image 49 of 65 Ancestry.com

Matson, Frederick 32 Farmer RE Value $1000 NY
Syrene, 28 NY
Charles, 3 OH

1860 US Census, Wisconsin, Lafayette, Gratiot, Image 3 of 26 Ancestry.com
Matson, Frederic 42 Farmer RE Value $3000 PP Value 400 NY
Serena, 38 NY
Charles 13 OH
Frederic 4 OH

1870 US Census, Wisconsin, Lafayette, Gratiot, Image 23 of 44 Ancestry.com
Madison, Frederick 54 Farmer RE Value $9600 PP Value $1500 NY
Sarinie, 48 NY
Charles 23 Farm Help OH
Frederick, Jr. 17 OH
Abel 9 WI
Jennie 7 WI
Loren 7 WI

1880 US Census, Wisconsin, Lafayette, Gratiot, District 207, Image 4 of 32
Matson, Cyrene 62 Widow Keeps House NY
Abram 19 Blacksmith WI
Jeptha 17 Farmer WI
Jennie 17 WI

Frederick Jr. is living next door as follows:

Matson, Fred 26 Farmer OH
Fannie 22 WI
Maud 4/12 WI

By 1900 Fred, Jr. had moved to Iowa Co. with his wife, Frances B. and their daughters Maude and Mabel.
By 1910 Fannie is is listed as a Widow and is living in Iowa Co. with her daughters Maude and Mabel.

It would make sense that since Frederick and Cyrena lived most of their family lives in the Village of Gratiot, that is probably where Frederick died and where Cyrena is buried also. Gratiot is located in the Apple River Section of the Wisconsin Topo Map. Cemeteries that are included in that section are: Gratiot Cemetery, Highland Cemetery and Kingsley Cemetery. Both Highland and Kingsley are a bit of a distance from the Village of Gratiot while Gratiot Cemetery is located just out of town. You may want to start your search there.

I hope you find this information helpful. I wish you the very best of luck with your continued research.
