History of Vernon Co., WI, 1884, Greenwood (Twp. 13, R. 1 E) compared with the cemetery data:

Caleb SHREVE, Section 22 SW, & John S. SHREVE came in 1853. John at first located on Section 23, but later moved to Section 15. Caleb SHREVE was elected a supervisor in the first election, Apr. 1856. Caleb SHREVE served in the Sixth WI Vol. Infantry. He also served as postmaster at Debello. In 1883, John S. SHREVE was elected treasurer.

Caleb SHREVE (29 May 1822/3, Miami Co., IN - 7 Je. 1903, son of Wm.) moved as a child with his parents to Perry Co., OH, where he m. 15 Sep. 1842, Naomi JENNINGS (1826 - 7 Apr. 1879, ae. 52-11-23). Children, Ezra W., Sarah E., Wm. Smith, John J., Isaac L., Arminda, Lovica, & Caleb Perry SHREVE. [Cemetery has Tabitha (1868 - 4 May 1879, 9-10-11) & Naomi A. (1856 - 28 Oct. 1871, 15-3-28).]

Wm. Smith SHREVE was b. 12 Dec. 1847, m. 1868, Susan FRIES, & had Mary Amanda, Charles F., Louisa M., Susan Edith, & Myrtie C.

John J. SHREVE was b. Boone Co., IL, 4 Oct. 1853. In 1873, he went to Turner Co., [S.] Dakota. He m. 1876, Ellen ROGERS & had Ada J. & Edward O.

William SHREVE (26 Sep. 1802, Bedford Co., PA - 9 Jan. 1880) moved to Miami Co., OH; m. 15 Je. 1820, Eleanor SMITH (15 Sep. 1803? - 7 May 1865, 61-7-20). They came in 1855 to Section 22, with sons Eden {m. Anna KAUFFMAN, moved to Storm Lake, IA}, Hezekiah, & James H., who was the first deacon of the Christian Church.

John S. (16 Feb. 1828, Perry Co., OH - 30 Dec. 1894, s/o Wm.) m. 1850, Caroline BECK (May 1829, PA - 25 June 1868). Children:

In 1871, John S. m2. Emma C. [HINES / HYNE] BUNDY (13 Mar. 1838 - 15 Aug. 1906), dau/o Yanca JENKINS & Wm. HINES, & wid/o Jas. BUNDY. John & Emma had Charles & Amy.

James H. (14 Dec. 1832 - 11 Nov. 1888, s/o Wm.) m. 4 May 1854, Mary E. CHENOWETH, b. Perry Co., OH. Seven ch. were living in 1884
