Thanks for the explanation of your source.

Just for fun, I tried to see whether Digitalarkivet had a clue for you. I found that both Hedemarken and Aggershuus had Bergh on the 1801 census, and the parish and subparish were Nęss for both. My mother's maiden name was Ness, and it got spelled Nass and Nes. In Norwegian that means something like promontory or nose, and with all of the fjords in Norway, there were lots of places named Ness, etc.

There was an Erich Andersen of Bergh, 53 in 1801.
