DIED
David C. Barnes departed this life, in Omro, May 6th, aged 63 years.
Brother Barnes was born in Monongahela county, Va., in 1814. He was converted, and joined the Methodist Episcopal church in Springfield, Ohio, when a youth; and maintained his Christian integrity, and his relation with the church, all his days. I visited him several times during his last sickness, and in answer to my inquiries he assured me all was well, and he felt safe. Rev. R.S. Hayward, of Eureka, preached his funeral sermon to a large and attentive congregation. Brother Barnes moved to, and became a citizen of Omro eight years since; and was well known and esteemed in our village. He was a good citizen and a kind husband and father. He leaves a wife, and five children to mourn his decease. The God of heaven watch over and keep them, til gathered with him into the mansions of glory.
