DIED
In the town of Poygan, Thursday, August 9th, of scarlet fever, Jessie R., eldest daughter of Amos and Mary Carter, aged 7 years and 5 months.
Little Jessie has left us, but only for a season. Blessed with a loving and obedient disposition, she was a general favorite; but with all her gentleness, she possessed a distinct individuality peculiarly her own. She was of a religious turn of mind, although not especially trained in that direction. Her favorite hymn was, "I am so glad that Jesus loves me," and with perfect faith in Him, she passed away. Not lost, but gone before.
