Dietrich and Agneta(died on Sept. 24, 1848)were born in Ellerwald, Prussia and homesteaded in Neukirch, Russia, a villagethat had was laid out in the Yushanlee River of the Molotschna Colony in 1819.They had 6 children, including Franz and Jacob. I understand that Jacob was 14 and Franz 10 years old when this move occurred. After Dietrich's death in the 1830's, Agneta went to Margenau to live with her son Jacob and his wife. The concern for her family and finally a very high fever so devastatred her health that she had a nervous breakdown and she died and invalid at around age 65. I know very little about Franz, who I understand lived in Sparrau was married twice. Understand that Franz had a least three sons, Peter, Franz and Jacob. Believe Franz and Jacob(the sons) immigrated to Morris County in Kansas. Would appreciate any information in that regard. My ancestor Jacob, married Anna Wiens Groening and had 8 children, with their oldest son being Jacob A., who is my great grandfather. He brought a group of Mennonites to the Hillsboro, Kansas area in the mid 1800's. There is a book titled "The Groening-Wiebe Family 1768-1974" published by the Mennonite Brethern Publishing House in Hillsboro, Kansas 67063 that lists the geneology of this family. It was compiled originally by Jacob Z. Wiebe with the second edition compiled by Joel A. Wiebe, Vernon R. Wiebe and Raymond F. Wiebe.Hope this information is of some value to you.
