Edward Henry Wiegert Jr. Obituary
Edward Henry Wiegert Jr., 74, of Brunswick died Monday, May 16, 2005, at his residence.
He was a native of Chicago, Illinois, and had been a resident of Glynn County for the past 45 years. He retired from the U. S. Navy in 1967 and then retired as a sergeant from the Brunswick Police Department in 1992. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and the Police Benevolent Association.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara D. Wiegert of Brunswick; three daughters, Deborah K. Wiegert (Carla) and Rebecca W. Trollinger, both of Brunswick, and Leah H. Antonides (Tony) of Meridian, Mississippi; three brothers, Harvey Wiegert of Kialua, Hawaii, Richard Johns of Madison, Wisconsin, and Alan Johns of Arizona; two sisters, Betty Ruttan of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Arlene Wirth of Longmont, Colorado; three grandchildren, Christie Trollinger, Michael Antonides and Joey Antonides; a great-grandson, Mikah Wilson; and extended family, Carol Nichols of Brunswick.
A memorial gathering will be held, with military honors, at 11 a. m. Friday in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be present and former members of the Brunswick Police Department, Leland Moore, Orion Douglass and Ron Maulden.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and suggests those wishing make memorial contributions to a charity of the donor's choice.
