The Wiens families I know are of Frisian - "Dutch" - origin. In 1980 we had a large reunion of the Wiens(z) family in Clearbrook, B.C. Relatives from the U.S.A. - particularly Pennsylvania, Oregon, and California, and from Canada and many other countries attended.
Georgi Vins and his family were also there.Georgi's grandparents were Jacob J. Wiensz and Liese Berg, his great grandparents were Jacob Wiensz and Elizabeth Reimer, his great, great grand parents were Gerhard Wiensz and Maria Martens, and his great, great, great grandparents were Gerhand Wiensz and Judith Sawatsky.
My grandparents were Peter Wiensz and Maria Peters, my great grandparents were Gerhard Wiensz and Katherine Reimer,my great, great grandparents were Gerhard Wiensz and Maria Martens, and my great, great, great grandparents were Heinrich Wiens and Judith Sawatsky.
The family of Kornelius and Tina Wiens - Esther J. Wiensand Victor D. Wiens - of Abbotsford, B.C. have compiled a book called Our Wiensz Heritage.
