One more thing I forgot to mention...
Henry Beauclerc married Matilda of Scotland, whose mother's line(Margaret Atheling) is traceable to Alfred the Great.
Henry I's daughter (Beauclerc) also Matilda becomes Empress Matilda and marries Geoffrey Plantagenet, who begin the line of Plantagenet's who are then traceable down to the Thomas Wight line, through several females(daughters of knights and nobility).
A really great book for understanding the family lines and ties from early Britain, Alfred the Great and through the Plantagenet's is "The Story of Britain" by R.J. Unstead. It is an older, out of print book written for high schoolers, but super for information!
Hope this helps,
Cathy
