Ed Windsor, St. Charles, Ill., surprise party, 1879
St. Charles (Illinois) Review, Feb. 28, 1879
Last Saturday night was the time set for the surprise on Ed Windsor and wife. A goodly number of their friends assembled at J.G. Goodman’s and marched from that gentleman’s residence at eight o’clock, for the invasion of Ed’s household. They were warmly welcomed and enjoyed an evening of merriment. Everything was done to make pleasure general - unconfined. It being Saturday night, very suddenly the guests departed for home about 11:55. James O’Brien went home the “suddenest” of all, however. +++Sent as a courtesy, not related.+++
