Read your e mail;coupla comments. The John Wingerts in Goshenhoppen Register probably are not brothers, how about father and son?Eliz., born in 1793 (where is that recorded) could not be daughter of someone born in 1770s or 1780s.I would like to know about her too.See Walter Petto's article "Early Catholic Immigrants to NJ Iron Mills," published in VOl XVI, no.1 of Spring 1991 The Palatine Immigrant,Josepth Wingard is probably same as Johann Joseph (John) Wingert. Married Anna Elizabeth Marian, Charlottenberg NJ 5/28/1771.three children born in NJ, including John, born 8/15/1774.Moved to Goshenhoppen, but returned to Mt. Hope NJ and had 2 more children, including another John, born 5/1/1782.It is interesting how Elizabeth, not shown in article, is born in 1793 and then married in 1806.Reference is made also in "Sterling Genealogy, VOL 1" to marriage of Elizabeth Wingert to JOseph Sterling (marriage in Goshenhoppen Register)
I do not know how or why Joseph left Wilton he was raised in Robesonia. His father never left Ct. as far as I can tell.
Joseph and Elizabeth had son John, who married Catharine Covely.I am looking for info on her.I have tracked the Covely's back to Belgium--One of Hasenclevers ironworkers.
