Hi Dave,
Sorry I can not provide any definitive information, but we may be related in some way.My paternal grandmother once told me that my family surname was also spelled Wissmann and that last N was dropped when immigration to US from Germany occurred.
Unfortunately at this time I have little or no information beyond that.. other than my paternal Great Grandfather was named Gerhardt (sp ?) and supposed was born in 1860 and died in 1908(locations or dates unknown).
My father was Charles Augustus Wissman born in Youngstown, Ohio July 28, 1914, died Sept 21, 1972 in Cleveland, Ohio..
his father was Henry C Wissman, born in 1883 and who died March 3 1959(I did not know him)
Not sure that information is of any value to you.. but in what limited efforts I have made so far I have not yet uncovered much about the Wissmann surname.
I have found that Wissman surname was more common than I previously thought with hundreds of families in Ohio and Northern Kentucky... and groups in Mississipi, Kansas in particular.
I apologize I can not offer any specifics regarding Andreas.
