My theory is that Matilda Moore had to be in a position to meet a Charles Sears in 1875 at the minimum to have Lewis: if he actually was her son as he thinks: in 1875
Now on these remote farms; churches and fairs and kinfolk visits was the only way to meet;
So I presume a Charles Sears must be in Taney County somewhere or
Matilda herself moved to Polk County........where she was married to Witt; and somehow met him there.....and he took her home to his family in Tuscumbria
Now there are plenty of Syers spelled that way in Polk County........as well as other Moores and Scaggs that could be kinfolk........she could have been sent to one of them............
Missouri didnt have all that many people back in her time:....how can we lose one Charles Sears????
