I went back to look at page 91 again to see your great grandfather's name listed just below my grandfather George York. They must have known each other and perhaps were friends. I think my grandfather lived at the Soldiers Home after your great grandfather but cannot swear to that.

My mother always told me that my grandfather's name was listed on a monument on one side as killed in action and on the other side as wounded. I wonder if it is the monument at Ft. Riley?

Where is Ft. Riley located? I really find all of this fascinating that after all these years we can come up with this kind of information.
