I totally agree with Michele. There was a lot of crap going on at that time...and this has nothing to do with the 2nd amendment. The Constitution really didn't apply to the natives. I am a history major and I have had Native American History classes and maybe you have too...but no man should be making excuses for the US Military to be doing what they did to the Native Americans. After all, this wasn't a one time thing. It would be a totally different story if this was the only incident, but it's not. The white people thought higher of their slaves than the natives (I'm totally opposed to slavery) and who was it who initially greeted these strange people and taught them how to survive? Ignorance doesn't even begin to explain what the white man did to his red brother. There is nothing I would love more than to go back in time and correct it all. I am incredibly proud to say that my family has been with the Cherokee for over 300 years. They lived with them and became apart of them. No tribe deserved what they got, and no man should stoop so low as to make excuses for the Americans who took part in these murders.
