This is not a political website; this site is administered by Genealogy.com. It is a forum to discuss the ancestry of the posters here. My great-grandfather was in Troop 'K' of the 7th Cavalry. He was shot in the leg BY AN INDIAN WOMAN. He lost his lower right leg due to amputation and survived until 1945. There are several stories to be told about the events on December 29, 1890. Do not buy into the "unarmed women and children were slaughtered" myth; nor the myth of "Custer's revenge". The truth lies somewhere in the middle of the myths. Read and research THE FACTS. There was no glory on the part of Red or White. Many mistakes were made BY BOTH SIDES. What's past is past. I do not care to "refight" old battles with modern "political correctness." Have a pleasant day. Notify Administrator about this message?
