Roice death by train

Hi,

Looking for help to figure out who this man is.

I have from the Hampshire County, WV. Death Records Book a:
Pg 238 - 3414 John Roice - White Male - D: Feb 27, 1907 - 65 y - B/P 2/ 100 N: fruit tree agent - Struck by engine.

This would make him born abt 1842. I have checked the 3 local newspapers for any mention of the accident, but none, not even in the scocial columns. This is strange as there are so many mentions of railroad related accidents. I can not seem to link him to my wife's Hampshire Co. Royces? Eventually I hope to make a trip to Maryland newspapers as this railroad would have probably run along the river. Thanks for any help solving this mistery.
