KENT and MCBRIDE families late 1700s

I descend from the KENT, James (spouse unknown) through Silas Kent and from my father's side, MCBRIDE, James (Sarah Edwards). Both lived on/near Patterson(s) Creek in late 1700s. Although the merging of these families didn't take place (that I know of) until the 1960s in Minneapolis!

1) I am looking for any information on JAMES KENT or SILAS KENT in Hampshire Co. All I see is that they seemed to migrate with Jesse Kent and others to Ohio. And, Jesse Kent's will in 1805 left most of his possessions to the children of Okey and Margaret Kent (to David and Jesse Johnson) and some to his sister, Phebe Kent married to Frederick Burgett.

2) My second question would be to verify whether Okey's wife was Margaret (as listed on a couple of land deeds) and if she *was* related to Jesse Kent. Again, my relation to Jesse is only a guess, but I do know I'm related to JAMES Kent through his son, Silas.

3) It appears that James Kent was born in Virginia, went up to New Jersey somewhere about 1770s and had at least a couple of children, then came back down to Hampshire County with family. New Jersey has limited records and I was wondering if anyone has noticed a migration to and from New Jersey (for work or war perhaps)?

Thanks to anyone that can offer another clue!
