John Pierce Newman b.1770-1780 s/o George Newman married Hannah Foster ca 1794 & had son Isaac Newman b. 1795 all in Hampshire Co, VA/WV. They moved to Adams Co, OH ca 1800. Does anyone know of a Newman or Foster families of Hampshire Co links or Websites. I live in Illinois and do not have access to early records. I've searched all the normal genealogy resources but anyone looking for these surnames are looking for much later periods. We think there was a small settlement called Newman[s]ville near Romney as quite a bunch of the Newman's lived there during the early times. They inter-married with the early BLUE and HERRIOTT families of the Potomac Highlands. Hope someone can help. My email is nmkauth@ilstu.edu
